"All my life I grew up watching my older brother, Richard, face discrimination and exclusion because of his disability. In conjunction with my awareness of the discrimination people with disabilities face, I found my own love and appreciation for film. While navigating this passion for film and finally pursuing it in college, I realized the lack of inclusion for people with disabilities in the film industry. Malarkey is going to be a catalyst for my career as a filmmaker aiming to include people with disabilities in real and authentic way. While I may not be an individual with a disability, I am a sibling to one and have the personal connection to work with people to make my films the most authentic and real that they possible can be."
